HOLLISTER, Calif. — Hollister police said that they arrested a man for carrying a large amount of cannabis and psychedelics in his vehicle.

When the officer contacted the driver, Jorel Castillo, he smelled a "strong odor of cannabis coming from inside the vehicle," per a police social media post.

Castillo denied having a significant amount of cannabis in his vehicle. Due to the heavy odor, the suspect eventually admitted to the large amount of cannabis in the vehicle.

The vehicle was searched, and "substantial amounts of cannabis, psilocybin mushrooms, THC oil, THC crystals, vape pens, numerous packaging containers, scales and various denominations of cash," per the social media post.

Castillo was arrested and booked into San Benito County Jail for possession for sale of controlled substances, possession of marijuana over 1 ounce, transporting or selling narcotic or controlled substances and selling, distributing, or possessing synthetic cannabis for sale.
