On May 7, 2025, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 100 block of Riverview Lane in Redway as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal cannabis cultivation. Authorities determined that the property lacked the necessary Humboldt County permits and California state license required for commercial cannabis operations.
During the operation, deputies discovered and eradicated approximately 5,081 actively growing cannabis plants. In addition, law enforcement officers seized and destroyed over 877 pounds of processed cannabis bud, which was reportedly being cultivated and stored without legal authorization.
The investigation also led to the discovery of several illegal substances and weapons. Deputies seized 9.5 grams of LSD in tablet form, 16.6 grams of liquid LSD, 22.3 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and 71.8 grams of suspected ketamine. Additionally, officers found two un-serialized firearms — an AR-15-style rifle and a pistol — which were confiscated as part of the operation. Approximately $21,100 in U.S. currency was also seized, believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.
Two individuals were arrested at the scene: Asha Fellion, age 40, and Teerawan Meekam, age 45, both residents of Redway. Fellion was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on multiple charges, including illegal cultivation and possession of cannabis for sale, maintaining a drug-involved premises, conspiracy, possession of controlled narcotics, and failing to provide proper employee pay documentation.
Meekam faces similar charges, including cannabis cultivation and possession for sale, conspiracy, and labor code violations related to employment practices. Specifically, Meekam was charged with failure to provide an itemized paycheck and failure to pay minimum wage, suggesting that the illegal operation may have also involved labor exploitation.
This raid is part of the Sheriff’s Office’s ongoing efforts to crack down on unlicensed cannabis cultivation and associated criminal activities, which often include violations of environmental, labor, and drug laws.
