Major Drug Bust Prevents $500 Million Worth of Narcotics from Hitting U.S. Streets
A massive drug bust off the coasts of Mexico, Central, and South America has prevented nearly half a billion dollars' worth of narcotics from reaching the United States, according to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Officials report that approximately 35 suspected drug traffickers were taken into custody during the operation.
“This means fewer families torn apart by addiction and fewer lives lost to overdoses,” Noem stated. She also delivered a strong message to drug cartels: “We own the sea, not you.”
The seized drugs will be destroyed, marking a significant victory in the ongoing battle against international drug trafficking.
