Up in smoke: Ohioans can begin growing marijuana at home and won’t be charged for possession of small amounts as a new voter-approved recreational marijuana law takes effect without changes from state lawmakers.
Laura Hancock and Jeremy Pelzer report that the Ohio Senate and Gov. Mike DeWine coalesced behind a proposal that included immediate recreational sales at medical marijuana dispensaries, lowering THC concentrations and keeping home-grow in place, but the Ohio House adjourned Wednesday without taking up the bill. Until both sides can agree on changes, the proposal that passed in November is the law of the land.
