LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 65-year-old Kentucky man was arrested on Sunday after Mesquite police found almost 150 pounds of illegal marijuana buds during a traffic stop on Interstate 15 northeast of Las Vegas.
Ricky Jaggars of Campbellsburg, Kentucky, was charged with a felony count of trafficking marijuana, according to a Mesquite Police Department news release on Thursday.
Jaggars was transported and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. Jail records indicate he is no longer in custody.
“While speaking with the driver, the officer observed indications the driver was involved in criminal drug activity and initiated an investigation,” according to the news release. The traffic stop occurred at about 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The marijuana buds were found during a search of the vehicle.
Investigators found evidence the marijuana was being transported for illegal resale in several Midwestern states.
